Poured myself a dram last night, just a quiet evening in front of the telly. First thing that hit me was this gorgeous deep amber colour — proper beautiful in the glass 🥃 Nose-wise, I got this lovely heather and orange squash vibe, kind of like walking through the Scottish countryside on a warm day. There's something almost medicinal about it though, bit camphory, bit mentholy... reminded me of my nan's old sweet shop actually, all fudges and liquorice. Then on the palate — oh mate. This thing is smooth as anything. Really complex too. Got these stewed prunes and dried fruits, figs and dates, all wrapped up in what I can only describe as mutton suet pastry from a proper Sunday roast 😂 There's tobacco in there too, like an old cognac or that old amontillado my uncle keeps for special occasions. The oak's been done to perfection honestly, and there's this lovely manuka honey sweetness running through it all. Shortbreads and toasted croissants at the end — I know that sounds daft but trust me. Finish goes on forever. Old tobaccos, resinous notes, bit of miso soup weirdly enough 🤔 Proper miracle in your glass this one. Glorious stuff.

Just had a dram and wow, this one's got a proper old-school character. No fancy modern wood tech here, it feels really authentic. The nose is all dried fruits and a bit of citron, almost like an old amontillado sherry. There's this lovely strand of tobacco leaf and manuka honey sweetness. Then on the palate, it gets rounder and chewier. Stewed prunes, currants, and that game-y note comes through, followed by something like toasted croissants and a hint of leather polish. Surprisingly, there's a cool, mentholy lift right at the end, like a camphory fudge. 🤔 The finish is glorious and long. It reminds me of old cognac with its dark fruits and a whisper of liquorice and mutton suet. Really warming.

Just had a pour – that deep amber colour is lovely. Nose hits with mentholy sultanas and dates, really inviting. Tastes smooth and complex, notes of mutton suet and Parma ham that somehow work. Oak’s been mastered to perfection, no modern wood-technology here. Hints of old amontillado, figs, a bit game-y, with a tobacco strand coming through. Finish is glorious – rounder, with citrons, pears, and old cognac vibes. Stewed prunes, waxed figs, and currants linger. Very resinous, almost like manuka honeys and toasted croissants. Menthol fudges add a twist, alongside liquoricy, orange squash, and mirabelles. Leather polish and heather in the background. Feels like an old Connolly, rich and satisfying. 😊

Deep amber in the glass, proper cosy stuff 🥃 I get old tobacco, polished leather, figs and dates, with a bit of pear and orange squash sweetness. Feels smooth and long, quite menthol-y, with honey, liquorice, prunes and a wee savoury edge like miso. Old-school, warm, and lovley by the fire.

Quite a cosy dram, this. I get a bit of honey, soft oak, dried fruit and a wee spicy tingle 😊 Feels warm and mellow, with a slightly smoky, nutty finish. Easy to sip, not too fussy — proper nice on a quiet evening.
