Wow, this one's interesting. Honestly, first sip, it’s got this lovely light toffee sweetness, almost like a Werther's Original that melted. Then there's this unexpected freshness, like a summer breeze through a garden with honeysuckle tea and yellow flowers. On the palate, it really opens up, feels richer and fatter. I’m getting this gentle hint of soot, like a distant campfire, but balanced with something floral and faintly herbal. There’s a swirl of citrus marmalades and golden raisins, even a whisper of limoncello. The finish goes on forever, drying oak and earth coming through, but still that magical sweetness lingering. It’s like a super well-balanced mead, with a Springbanky character. Superb stuff.

Tonight I opened a bottle I've been curious about for a while. First sip, it's got this gently herbal thing going on, maybe some lemon grass, but then it turns into a kind of rich café latte sweetness. It feels a bit fat and chewy in the mouth, not exactly heavy, but with a faint roughness around the edges. I get these fleeting notes of eucalyptus and limoncello right after, which is really lovely. Then it shifts to warmer flavours—honey, Werther's Originals, and that classic dried oak that grips the finish just a touch. There's a background of raisins and cider apples too. Honestly, it's quite magical and feels fatter than I expected. Some yellow flowers and a general summer vibe come through, almost like standing next to beehives on a warm day. Superb stuff. 😊

Just poured myself a dram, and wow, it's got this deep gold colour that looks like liquid sunshine. 🌞 On the nose, there's light toffee and honey upfront, with a whiff of earth and something beehive-ish – maybe a bit of mead or Werther’s? Tastes fresher than expected, like citrus marmalades and a zing of yuzu, but it's honeyed too. It's not exactly heavy, but it’s fatter, you know? Swims much better on the palate, with hints of café latte and golden raisins. There’s a sooty edge, a bit of drying oak, and I get flashes of limoncello and even calvados. Some yellow flowers and summer vibes pop up, with a stronger eucalyptus kick at the end. It’s quite long on the finish, and just superb – feels like one of those legendary local barley expressions, maybe a touch Springbanky or old Rosebank-like. Excellent stuff, minty and fat-spirited, just what I needed. 😊

Quite warm and mellow, with a bit of honey, oak and dried fruit coming through. A gentle spice hangs about at the end — cosy stuff for a slow evening 🥃
