Ah, that’s proper stuff this. Warm, almost like fresh focaccia out the oven, but with a whiff of old varnish and wax—like my grandad’s shed but in a good way. There’s a proper hit of ripe bananas and custard, then a flash of apple peel and mirabelles. Bit of a kick, mind, strong and hot, but in that cosy, barley-heavy way. Finishes with a little floral touch, like someone’s just walked past with a bunch of flowers. Very, very good indeed. 🥃

Right, so this one smells like walking into a proper bakery first thing. You get that golden honey drizzled over ripe apples, then this lovely, warm, yeasty dough character. A bit of sunflower oil and waxiness in the background. On the palate, it's all fresh baked breads and biscuits. I'm thinking warm croissants and sourdough focaccia straight from the oven, with a dusting of barley flour. There's a lovely custard-like sweetness too. The finish is where it gets interesting. It hangs around with this sweet, waxy note, and then – whoosh – a little floral, almost mirabelle spirit note pops up, followed by more flowers. 🌸 It's robust, this one. A bit strong and hot, but really excellent stuff. The kind of dram you savour. ✨

Sipping this one – the honey hits first with a whiff of varnish, but it's not harsh, more like warm custard and biscuits. I'm getting all sorts of breads: croissants, sourdough, even focaccia from the oven, with a sweet maize bread vibe. There's a vegetal oil thing, sort of sunflower oil, and a waxy feel that reminds me of paraffin. Ripe apples and mirabelles come through, with a floral side in the finish. It's excellent albeit a little strong and hot, but very, very, very good. Gold in the glass, with that old-school character. 🍞🍎

Just had a dram that smells like fresh focaccia from the oven, ripe bananas, and a bit of varnish. First sip, I get this beeswax and golden syrup vibe, like a doughy sour bread with a sourdough edge. Then comes this lovely quince and mirabelle note, really natural, almost like mirabelle spirit. It's got that classic biscuit and custard thing going on, very comforting. Can’t get over the sourdough bread and croissants memory, maybe a hint of pancake batter. There’s this floral side and a touch of sweet maize bread, sunflower oil. It feels a bit old-school, maybe like an excellent albeit a little strong and hot Signatory bottling from a 1st fill sherry cask. The finish is all barley and honey, with that paraffin and vegetal oil touch. Wow, this is very, very, very good.
