Blimey, this one’s a proper crakcer 😌 Pours a lovely dark gold, that great oily mouth feel hits right away, first you get that sharp limestone minerality, then bright lemongrass cuts through with a whiff of menthol cigarettes, a hint of eucalyptus oil and that faint phenolic medicinal twang, plus that weirdly comforting Barbour grease wood oiliness. Then bam — an avalanche of tropical fruits: ripe mangoes, passion fruit, tangerines all bursting at once, with coriander, dill and aniseed peeking through. There’s that old bookshop mustiness too, a faint ink note, and those complex resinous pine sap notes that linger for ages. The finish is long, with a little limy zesty zing and a touch of butter cream smoothing it all out, even that faint cardboardy tea-ish flat edge that reminds me of cuppas at my gran’s, got a weird little Italian eleganzia vibe to it too. Proper exceptional stuff, no whiff of that “bad swimmer” chlorine rubbish at all 🤣

Just had a dram that’s proper interesting, like a proper old bookshop meets a mango orchard. The nose hits you with this avalanche of tropical fruits – think mangos and passion fruits dancing with a zesty twist, then there’s this medicinal edge, almost like menthol cigarettes or eucalyptus oil. On the palate, it’s dark gold and smooth, with sage and coriander upfront, before the phenolic notes kick in, giving it a bit of a medicinal kick. The finish is long and oily, leaving hints of aniseed and that resinous wood oil thing. Bit of a bad swimmer, though – the initial hit’s a bit flat, but then it opens up into this complex, oily mouth feel with chives and dill lingering. Fruity notes, but not overdone, like someone chucked a handful of passion fruits into a butter cream pastry. Exceptional, really. Reminded me of Italian eleganzia in a glass, but with a bit more kick. 🥃✨

Nose hits me first – this dram’s got an avalanche of tropical fruits, proper mangos and tangerines dancing with fruity notes, but there’s somethin’ oddly medicinal lurking underneath, like licking an old library book mixed with a dodgy pharmacy. The palate’s this weird clash of butter cream and dill, with a salty limy kick that reminds me of seawater in my mouth. Herbs come through – coriander, chives, maybe a bit of sage – but then it’s all tangled up with ink and eucalyptus oil, leavin’ this resinous, almost piney trail. Finish is long enough to make you think twice, with this faint tingle of menthol and a whisper of limestone that makes me feel like a bad swimmer coughin’ up river water. Exceptional? Maybe. But it’s got that Italian eleganzia I can’t quite place – like a fancy cocktail gone slightly wrong. Dark gold colour, though. Definitely eye-catchin’. 🥃✨

Warm and cosy, with a bit of honey, vanilla and soft oak. There’s a gentle spice and a wee smoky edge that hangs about nicely 🥃 Feels easy-going, slightly sweet, and quite comforting on a chilly evening.

Right, so this one’s a proper sit-and-ponder dram. 🥃 Nose first—honey’d orchard fruits, like a bruised pear and a whiff of sultana, all soft-like. Then a wee tickle of fresh sawdust and a whisper of cinnamon bark. Almost reminds me of me nan’s baking, if she’d used a dash of ginger nut. First sip—ooh, coats the tongue lovely. Loads of toffee apple at the front, then a wee zing of orange peel and a dusty cocoa powder note. There’s a gentle burn, more like a warm hug than a slap. ⚡️ A thread of nutmeg runs right through. Finish hangs about nicely... slightly drying, leaving a ghost of marzipan and a lick of salty caramel. Maybe a hint of dry leafiness at the tail end, like autumn hedgerows. Not shouting at ya, just quietly impressing. Proper cosy dram this, one for a rainy Sunday with the telly off. 🕯️
