Right, so I’m having a dram here, and straight away it’s got this weird charm, like the kind of thing that makes you pause mid-sip. There’s a sweetness upfront, tropical almost – think mangoes and orange liqueur mingling, which is interesting. But then it leans into these spicy, peppery punches, black pepper and something sharper, like burnt sulphur or spent matches, really heating the back of the throat. The nose is all over the place – hints of freshly cut grass, pine buds, even a whiff of fresh concrete, which sounds odd but works somehow. It’s a bit chaotic, but the honey and that golden warmth keep it grounded. The finish is long and smoky, with a touch of rust and a lingering spice that’s oddly refreshing. The Germans behind it must know what they’re doing – this one’s got layers, and it’s probably why they’re ace at bottling. Most charming? Aye, but tricky if you’re not ready for the ride.

Right then, had a go at this one from those independent German bottlers — what a ride! 😅 First sip, immediate hit of gunpowder and burnt sulphur, like striking spent matches right next to your nose. Bit tricky at first, honestly, almost chaotic. There's that fresh concrete note and a weird paint thing going on, but it somehow works? Give it a minute though and it opens up beautifully. Loads of black pepper, plenty of pepper all round really, then this gorgeous honey comes through — more honeyed as it sits in the glass. Leaning towards orange liqueur territory near the end, with a hint of freshly cut grass and some pine buds keeping things fresh. The gold colour is proper pretty, and honestly the finish is long and very pleasant. Mangoes sneak in there too if you're patient enough. Most charming whisky I've tried in a while, definitely one of the coolest experiences. Alles immer ausgezeichnet indeed 👌

Just tried a dram, golden with a honeyed sweetness. Hit with burnt sulphur and paint notes at first – pretty tricky! Then got mangoes and spent matches, plenty of pepper and black pepper, a bit of rust. Leaning towards orange liqueur, really. Very pleasant, the most charming chaotic thing I've tasted. Cool! 😊

Warm and a bit punchy at first, then turns honeyed and spicy. Getting some dried fruit, oak, and a wee smoky edge 🥃 Nice cosy finish, slightly peppery but not too heavy.
