Pouring this one out, the colour's a really pretty pale gold. Gave it a good sniff – there's a really lovely nose on it. Get a whiff of ripe apples and fresh oranges, maybe a little honey and mint. Underneath that, there's this subtle touch of undergrowth and a hint of something menthol. The first sip's interesting. The peat is much more pronounced on the palate than it was on the nose, a touch peatier than some older batches I've tried. It's got a nice malty backbone, with some pepper and a lightly earthy quality. That honey note comes through too, but it's balanced with a rather fresh, slightly drying touch in the finish. The 43% ABV suits it perfectly, keeps it approachable and rather cheerful. It's a strong contender for best value dram of the month, I reckon. 👍
