Just tried this whisky, and it's quite the experience! 🥃 Fruity upfront with ripe plums and mirabelles, but the arrival is excessively short – almost teasing. Then it shifts into an unusual adventure: herbal bitterness, mustardy notes, and green walnuts. There's a tired sourness and metallic touches, like old polishes. Nose has old waxes and beeswax, really 1970s. The palate is extremely similar to an old bottle of mead, with straw hints. Finish is long, bringing cigarette tobacco and menthol, but it's pretty sketchy at times. Many charms, though – fresher than I’d thought, bitterish and dry, almost wine-like. Very nice overall. 😊

Hmm, the first sip... really makes you think. There's this old, waxy quality, like polishing furniture in an old house 🏚️. It feels quite dry and herbal, almost like a digestif – something you'd have after a meal. Then, it unfolds into these bitter, green walnut notes, with a hint of that herbal liqueur vibe. Mentholated and cool, like a breath of mountain air 🌿. It's surprisingly long on the finish. It reminds me a little of that old bottle of mead I tried once, but drier. There's something about it that feels very... 1970s. A certain elegance, a bit like a fine white wine with that stony, mineral thing going on. Really has many charms, but it's a thoughtful dram, not a simple one. 😊

Had a wee dram of something that turned into a right unusual adventure 🧐 Nose was pure beeswax and old waxes, straight out of a 1970s dusty cupboard, then this flood of mead—like cracking an ancient bottle of the stuff. A whiff of mirabelles too, those ripe plums dipped in honey. Then the sip… laughably short fruity arrival, a flash of Meursault-like polish and juicy plums, gone in a blink. Immediately turns dry and bitterish, mentholated straw with metallic touches creeping in. Mid-palate goes all Fernet-Branca—mustardy notes and a hint of cigarette tobacco, proper un-Balvenie territory. Pretty sketchy honestly, borderline weird. But the finish? Long, surprisingly very nice. That old mead and wax vibe returns, softens into something with many charms. Feels like drinking a ghost from the ’70s. Not what I expected at all, but I kept going back for another sniff.

Right, so this one's got a proper coastal vibe—🌊 sea spray and a whiff of bonfire on the nose. First sip, it's all honey’d orchard fruit, like baked apples with a crack of black pepper. Mid-palate a wee burst of citrus zest 🍋 then it settles into this warm, malty biscuit thing. The finish is long, a tad salty with a gentle peat smoke that lingers. Feels like a dram for a dreich day, comforting but with a wee kick. Wouldn't say no to another. Slàinte! 🥃
