Got a pour of this 35-year-old oak-aged thing. And honestly, there’s no unbearable lightness even with all that time in the cask—more like sipping a light rum, the sort that reminds you of a certain Cuban label without me needing to say it. It’s thin, lemony, sweet and citrusy, putting it all straight in the aftertaste. 🍋 Makes me think of Juicy Fruit chewing gum and those fruit drops you’d get in a paper bag. It’s relatively light, almost like a splash of limoncello or a cold glass of sauvignon blanc with a salty breadstick on the side. Catch little whiffs of yuzu, and suddenly a small glass of coconut liqueur pops into your head. 🥥 Somewhere between an Invergordon-style grain whisky and a pack of cream eggs—there’s a weird turnip and apple thing at the edges, a bit of dough too. Medium body, just sweet and oddly comforting. Really moreish, that.
