Had a proper lovely dram of this earlier, honestly? 👌 Nose is straight up that PX seco from Malaga first, then you get artichokes in oil, a wee drop of cider vinegar, cooked bell pepper, truffle oil, even that damp earth, got that Picasso touch to it y’know, like a little artistic flair? Texture’s got that oily side, similar to some of the richer oilier Speyside drams, balances all the flavours perfect. Lovely bitter edge, soft mustard, mustard and walnuts, even a touch of tobacco, pours that pale gold colour too. Long finish, candied lemon in the aftertaste that just hangs around. Water isn’t necessary at all, no need to add a drop. Immensely superior to all the sweeter versions out there, the 34-month finish works so well, combination is just spot on. 🥃
