Poured myself a dram of this mild Caol Ila lovely. First thing that hits is the usual smoke, proper toned down though, not very peaty at all. Nice little vanilla sauce on the nose with these baked apples coming through and a bit of rhubarb compote. On the palate was fresh as a baby's, really clean feeling. Picked up some light brine and oysters kinda vibes, very nicely salty with blood oranges and more fresh fruits, something between apples and maybe litchis. There's butter and straw with notes of liquorice allsorts tucked in the back. Just touches of ashes and fragments of coal from the smoke. Honestly though, slightly weak on your palate and lacks punch for a Caol Ila. A little short too, lacks oomph y'know? Kept waiting for moscatel or muscaty tones but no obvious muscaty tones at all. Still, very very good whisky overall. Would happily have another glass but you can tell it's the lighter style 🥃

Just had a sip and it's quite mild, almost toned down. There's a usual smoke, not very peaty, with a little straw and fragments of coal. Tastes light, a bit weak on the palate, with hints of baked apples and blood oranges – somewhere between apples and maybe litchis. Got a touch of saltiness, like oysters, and a sweet note from rhubarb compote. No obvious muscaty tones, not winey at all. The finish is a little short and lacks punch, but it's a very, very good whisky overall. 😊

It’s a rather sweet dram, but don’t let that fool ya – there’s a proper smoky edge lurking in there, not too peaty though. First nose hits you with blood oranges and rhubarb compote, almost like a fruit salad that’s been kissed by fire. The palate’s fresh, very fresh, with hints of baked apples and moscatel sweetness, but it’s got this mild, slightly weak feel that’s not pushin’ hard. There’s a touch of vanilla sauce and some liquorice allsorts in the mix, and just a whisper of smoke that’s more gentle than anything. The finish is short, maybe a little too short, but it leaves this very nicely salty trail, like you’ve just bitten into an oyster by the sea. Oddly enough, I kept thinkin’ of coal fragments and ashes, but in a good way, y’know? Not the usual punch you’d expect, but it’s got character, just a bit toned down. Overall, it’s a solid sip, though I’d say it’s a bit shy compared to what I’m used to. 😊

Nosing it first, I get these ripe red apples and maybe lychees, just hints. There's a light smokiness, like old ashes and fragments of coal, but it's not overwhelming. On the tongue, it's quite pleasant. Smooth, buttery, with a little vanilla sauce. I get a light brine that makes me think of oysters by the sea. It's rather sweet, though, more like baked apples and a touch of rhubarb compote. 🍏 It's a mild, toned-down dram. Doesn't have that big peaty punch, and the finish is a little short for me. Feels slightly weak on the palate, to be honest, lacks a bit of oomph. Still, it's a very, very good whisky overall. Just wish it had a bit more power behind it.

刚开瓶那会儿能闻到一点点香草酱似的甜味，混着些大黄蜜饯的酸香。喝起来居然有海风带来的咸鲜感，但很轻盈，完全不会觉得冲。 烟熏味倒是老朋友了，不过这次像烧过的煤渣，碎碎的，不浓烈。有人说它像温和版的艾雷岛风格，我觉得挺准的——把那股野性劲儿收敛了。 让我惊喜的是里头藏着的水果香，不是葡萄酒那种，更像苹果和荔枝的清新混合。尾段有血橙的影子一闪而过，整体清爽得像清晨的空气。 就是收尾有点短，还没品够就溜走了… 不过管他呢，这杯喝着舒服，确确实实是瓶好威士忌 🥃
