Sweet Vishnu, just poured a dram of this full gold beauty and it’s absolute magic 🥃 You get this powerful combination right off the bat – whiffs of camphor, embrocations and old hessian. Sounds mad, but it’s defintely coherent. Smells exactly like a breezy walk on the beach with tarry ropes, coal smoke and kippers over a fire. It's got a raw wool and chalky vibe, leaning a bit to the austere side, but incredibly focused and chiselled. Then wham! The active cask hits you. Feels like a first fill bourbon tangled up with some very old Sauternes. Proper devilish stuff 🔥 Loads of concentrated lime juice, dried tangerine skins that remind me of chen-pi, a touch of cough syrup and cardamom. Takes me right back to blasting the MC5s in my mate's garage 🎸 The long finish is totally vertical and luminous. Leaves you with lingering grass smoke, heavily salted liquorice, a bit of tobacco and menthol, eventually fading into tertiary notes of Chinese green tea, coffee dregs and a weirdly nice splash of café latte. Superb dram, honestly reminds me of the best old coastal stuff from back in the day. Cracking drop for a chilly evening! 🍻

Right, so I poured a measure of this one last night. Looks like liquid gold in the glass. First nosing, I got this lovely waxy, oily thing – reminds me of an old herbal remedy chest, maybe some bandages and putty tucked inside. Then it opens up. There's this perfect complexity, honestly. It's a bit fatter, oilier than I expected, with a thick and profound waxiness. You get these soft flashes of peat smoke, but it's more fragrant, heathery, not a punch. Almost beery, if that makes sense. The palate is where it really layers. There's this damp greenness, like after rain – petrichor! Underneath, a sharp, tangy coastal note and a beautiful salted mead sweetness. It's got real structure, mineral and profound. And the length! It just keeps going. The finish is all about that gently sooty smoke, some canvas, and a petrolic mineral edge. So much power, yet it stays elegant. An absolute gem, really.

Just had a dram and – wow – first hit was all coal smoke and soot, like a bonfire in the rain. Then it turned sublimely precise, with this luminous, focused glow. Got a chalky mouthfeel, hints of concentrated lime juice and grass smoke, almost herbal. Powerful combo of Indonesian-style curry spices and heavily salted liquorice, really devilish stuff. There's a mentholy kick, notes of tobacco and kippers swirling around. Long finish brings out cardamom, chen-pi, and a touch of cough syrup sweetness. True powerhouse, that one. 🥃

Lovely and warming 🥃 I get a bit of honey, soft oak, dried fruit and a wee touch of spice. Smooth enough, with a cosy finish that hangs about nicely. Feels like a proper quiet-evening dram.
