Ipoured a dram and it glowed full gold in the glass. First sip: plenty of milk chocolate wrapped in praline sweetness, with a hint of roasted peanuts. There’s added spices that give a little kick, almost like a cappuccino with café au lait notes. It’s jam‑packed with coconut, giving a tropical twist, yet the old Scottish grain backbone keeps it grounded. The finish is rather splendid, Great freshness given the age, and honestly it’s more than fine – all simply perfect. Sounds a bit like Starbucks in a good way, and I’m not a grain guy but this one works. 😊

This dram’s got a proper full gold glow, and the first sip hits you with a lovely milk chocolate sweetness upfront. Vanilla notes dance around, not too heavy, while roasted peanuts and this splendid nuts/pastries combo—like pecan pie without being cloying—keep things interesting. There’s a whisper of bourbon in there, maybe, and a faint whiff of cologne that’s oddly comforting. The added spices give it a bit more depth, but it’s not complicated, just rather splendid. The finish isn’t very long, though, and there’s this subtle bitterer aftertaste that makes you succumb a bit too easily. It’s all simply perfect, really, like something from Strathmore but with a twist. Guess it’s rather more complex than your usual grain, but in a good way. Not very long, but leaves you wanting another nip. 😄

This has a proper café vibe going on – think Starbucks meets something richer, with sweet, creamy notes of café au lait upfront. The first sip hits like pecan pie and roasted peanuts, all toasted and nutty, then there's this jam-packed coconut sweetness dancing around. It’s rather splendid, not too heavy, just enough to make me succumb even though I’m not a grain guy normally. Hints of bourbon peek through, mingling with praline and vanilla, while faint whiffs of cologne add a quirky twist. The finish? A bit bitterer, but in a way that reminds me of dark chocolate and cappuccino lingering after a proper meal. As most grains are, it’s got that old Scottish grain backbone, but with Malts of Scotland shaping it into something more complex. All simply perfect – great hoggie, full gold, and the spices? Just brilliant. 🎉

Just poured a dram and it’s proper lovely. The colour’s this full gold, not too dark. First nose gives off great hoggie vibes—vanilla notes and added spices dancing around. There’s something like speculoos or gingerbread hiding in there, which is nice. Not very long on the palate, but rather more complex than you’d think. Roasted peanuts and praline come through, maybe a hint of milk chocolate? Splendid nuts/pastries combo going on. Old Scottish grain character, as most grains are, but it’s got these most appealing notes of café au lait too. Sounds a bit like Starbucks but in a good way. Bitterer aftertaste, though, and faint whiffs of cologne? Oddly splendid. Not complicated, but it’s got that kinda warmth that makes you succumb quick. Cheers to that 🥃

Poured a dram and it's a lovely full gold colour. On the nose, I get vanilla and roasted peanuts, with a cappuccino vibe – kinda like café au lait, really appealing. Tastes of pecan pie and plenty of milk chocolate, not too complicated but jam-packed with coconut and added spices. It's got that speculoos or gingerbread thing, with a splendid nuts and pastries combination. Finish isn't very long, but there's perfect fruity freshness, and hints at bourbon. As an old Scottish grain, it's rather splendid, and I succumb to its charm even though I'm not a grain guy. 😊
