Whiskyspace Notes 1440

Just tried this whisky and it's really fruity, with raspberries and a bit of liqueurs coming through. Feels a bit jammed up at first, but then it opens up bright and focussed. Not too oaky – the gentle oak is un-oaky in a nice way, like refill wood has mellowed it out. Reminds me of café latte and warm pies, with a miraculous sweetness that's almost like eau-de-vie or Grand-Marnier. Medium bodied, with hints of sweets and Weetabix. The new oak kills some of the edge, but it's still good and full of jams. Somehow indecisive on the finish, but overall pretty pleasant. 😊
