Carsebridge is a historic single grain Scotch whisky distillery that operated in the Lowland region of Scotland from 1799 until its closure in 1983. Located in the village of Carsebridge near Alloa in Clackmannanshire, it was one of Scotland's pioneering grain whisky producers. The distillery was eventually demolished in the 1990s, making it a 'lost distillery' whose remaining casks are highly prized by collectors and connoisseurs. Carsebridge whisky was produced using column stills, creating a lighter, more delicate spirit compared to single malts. Typical flavor profiles include notes of vanilla, coconut, toffee, and soft oak, reflecting its Lowland heritage and extended maturation. Today, bottlings are extremely rare, released exclusively through independent bottlers such as Diageo's Rare & Old series, commanding premium prices in the secondary market.

Blimey, this is a right treat 🥃 Loads of tropical fruits going on here, really lush. First sip is like a mouthful of mangos and coconuts, followed by some sweet persimmon and tangerines. There’s a nice bit of marzipan in the mix too which I love. Finish is surprisingly long, settling down into herbal teas with a tiny whiff of teak oil. Absolute belter of a dram.

Just had a glass of this golden dram and it's proper lush. First sniff hits with ripe mangoes and citrus 🍊, like a tropical market on a sunny day. There's a sneaky hint of tamarind in there, makes me think of grandma's old fruit cake. The marzipan sweetness lingers with coconut and papaya, while the nutty bits—macadamia and almonds—add a creamy twist. Had a whiff of teak oil and herbal teas in the back, makes it feel proper aged, like a proper old Carsebridge spirit. The finish is surprisingly long, leaves a dry, spicy warmth that's dead nice. Proper smooth going down, no rough edges. Dead good for a wee dram by the fire 🥃

This one's got a beautiful gold colour 🌟 Right away I'm getting mangos and tangerines on the nose, like a summer fruit bowl. There's a lovely sweetness too, reminds me of sugarcane juice, with a little hint of tamarind in the background. It's so smooth, very fruity - definitely tropical fruits with papaya and coconut coming through. A touch of marzipan sneaks in, and then something like a cold hawthorn tea which is really pleasant. The citrus keeps it fresh. The finish is surprisingly long, with that herbal tea note lingering. Just a really lovely, easy-drinking dram. 🥃

Took a sip of this one last night and honestly, it was a bit of a treat 🥃 First thing that hit me was this lovely citrus note — like tangerines fresh off the tree, very zesty. Then it mellowed into something creamy, almost like macadamia nuts and coconut blended together. There's a hint of tropical fruit in there too, papayas and mangoes, which I wasn't expecting. Had this golden amber colour in the glass, really beautiful. The finish was surprisingly long, with a touch of sugarcane sweetness and something that reminded me of teak oil — not in a bad way, just rich and warming. A little persimmon sneaking through at the end as well. Very lovely old Carsebridge, honestly. Poured myself another glass without thinking 😄

Blimey, this one's a proper tropical holiday in a glass 🌴 First sip and I'm hit with these lovely mango and tangerine notes, really fresh and juicy. Then there's this creamy coconut thing going on, almost like marzipan mixed in. Quite sweet but not too much. After a bit, I start getting these herbal tea vibes, like cold hawthorn tea on a summer day. There's a touch of sugarcane juice too, and just the faintest hint of tamarind adding a little tang. The finish though... honestly surprised me. Kept going and going, those tropical fruits just lingering on. Really rather lovely stuff 😊
