first thing that hits you is that light gold colour, so bright it's almost glowing in the glass. nose comes through with piney notes straight off, like a walk under the fir trees back home in the Highlands. there's something earthy too, moss and damp pinewood after rain, maybe a hint of that old Buddhist temple in China my mate once described to me. takes a sip and it's spicier yet than expected, green peppercorns dancing with something sharper, almost mustard-like heat. not overpowering though, just a tingle that makes you sit up straight. mid-palate brings in buckwheat crêpes, weirdly enough, with this dry madeira thing going on, a little salty as well. the oak's there, more than I thought, along with thyme and some oriental oils that I can't quite place but they're nice. finish is where it gets weird—crème au beurre but with extreme fino sherry vibes, leaves this very tight feel on the tongue. pot-pourri and a tiny touch of soap hang around, but not enough to put me off. another fighter for the island of deer, this one, bold and a bit wild. 🥃

Gonna be honest, first sniff hits you like a walk under the fir trees back home, proper piney and that sort of woody note – reminds me of old Buddhist temples in China, all calm and ancient. Then it’s like someone’s spiced it up a bit, spicier yet than last time, with this sage and mustard kick that’s oddly comforting. The buckwheat crêpes thing comes through too, earthy and nutty, while the oak’s so dominant it’s almost got teak oil in the finish. Mint cordial and pine liqueur linger in the back, not too sweet, just enough to make you think of late summer evenings. Concentrated lemon juice zings through, sharp but not over the top, and the whole thing’s this light gold colour that looks like it’s been kissed by sunshine. Not sure how many of these flavours’ve been tamed, but it’s a fighter – packs a punch like another whisky from some remote island. Patchouli and moss sneak in at the end, weirdly grounding. Proper complex, this one. 🥃

Had a dram last night and honestly, it was quite the journey. First thing that hit me was this really piney, herbaceous note – like taking a walk under the fir trees, you know? Definite thyme and sage in there, maybe a hint of pine liqueur. There's this slight mustiness too, reminds me of an old Buddhist temple in China, with some oriental oils and patchouli swirling around. Oddly comforting actually. Bit of a tiny touch of soap? Not off-putting, just... there. And underneath all that, some dry madeira sweetness creeping in, with crème au beurre on the finish. Quite medium-bodied, not that many have been tamed like this one. Little bit of teak oil and more oak coming through as it opens up. A touch prickly at first but settles nicely. Reminded me of pot-pourri and buckwheat crêpes at my nan's place, if that makes any sense 😄

呦，这家伙刚入口就冲过来一股松针味，像在苏格兰高地溜达了一圈似的🌲那股"松林下散步"的清新劲儿，配着点奶油蛋糕的绵软和柠檬皮的刺激，简直是奇葩组合。 中间还夹着点干邑的干涩、薄荷糖浆的凉意，还有点像在老庙里烧了根檀香，再洒了把鼠尾草在地上。木头味很紧实，像榫接的老家具，但又不呆板，带着点泥土和苔藓的湿气。 后劲有点辣，像抹了芥末，但又不难受，反而让人想再来一口。最后那股"极干的菲诺雪莉桶"余韵，让人回味无穷，像在吃完荞麦薄饼后又喝了杯陈年雪利。

嗯，这杯威士忌是浅金色，闻起来有点广藿香和百花香的混合感 🌺。刚喝一口，浓缩柠檬汁的酸劲先冒出来，接着松树和橡木的味道就上来了，还带点薄荷酒和鼠尾草的草本香。口感很紧致，有点像黄油奶油，但后调有柚木油和东方油脂的厚重。这让我想起在冷杉树下散步，空气里都是松针和木头的气息 🌲。偶尔还能尝到一点点肥皂般的清新，挺有趣的。干马德拉的尾韵也明显，整体像喝了一口森林里的味道，有点辛辣但又清新。
