Blimey, this one’s a proper head-turner. It kicks off bold – starts big with a smokier punch that’s got a fair bit of peat, but not overpowering. There’s this minty thing going on, like a strong mint eau-de-vie mixed with a whiff of peppermint and Ricqlès, which is refreshingly zingy. The citrus is zestier than expected – tangerines, lemon zests, even a burst of gooseberries and oranges dancing about. Got a herbal liqueurs vibe, with liquorice wood and hints of eucalyptus, almost like drinking a garden party. The finish? Medium long, but maybe a tad too much going on – peppery spice, leather, and a tarty grapefruit/lemon note that sticks around. Not bad, but nothing like the standard stuff. Needs more focus, innit? Still, the greenness and hay undertones make it proper drinkable. 🥃

First sip hits you right away – starts big and bold, this one. There’s a proper burst of garden fruits upfront, tangerines and oranges dancing with this bright, almost gingery zing. Tarty grapefruit and lemon notes cut through, sharp but refreshing, like a minty breeze on a summer evening. The greenness is there too, earthy and grassy, with whiffs of hay and eucalyptus that remind me of wandering through a herb garden. Mid-palate gets a bit more complex – peppery warmth mixes with herbal aftertaste, almost like Ricqlès mint or strong peppermint eau-de-vie. Gooseberries and Greengages pop in there, tart and juicy, balanced by this smokier edge that’s rather peaty. Hints of leather and tobacco linger, not overpowering though, and there’s a hint of ale in the background, like something left to mature in an old wooden cask. The finish is medium long, a bit spicier with various spices and liquorice wood, leaving a zestier trail of lemon zests and this quiet, minty coolness. It’s a very different beast compared to what I usually reach for – nothing like the standard drams. Feels high quality, focused, and much more focused than some of the bigger, blander stuff out there. A proper sipper, this. 🍊🌿

Warm and mellow, with a bit of honey, oak and soft spice. Feels cosy on a chilly evening 🥃 A wee touch of dried fruit, then a gentle smoky finish. Nice and easy-going.

First sip hits you with a peaty smokiness, like a seaside bonfire 🔥🌊 Then it mellows into rich honey and vanilla, so smoooth! 🍯😋 A wee bit of spice lingers, cinnamon-ish, you know? 🥧 Finish of dark chocolate and nuts, proper loevly. 🍫👏 Cheers!

Right then, just had a wee sip. First whiff, proper spicy, like cinnamon and a bit of pepper. 🔥 Tastes... mmm, sweet. Like burnt sugar, maybe some dried fruit in there. A bit of oak, too. Nice and smooth, though. 🍎 Finish is warm, lingers a bit. A hint of smoke comes through right at the end. Spot on for a cold nite.
