Crikey, it starts with a little old walnut bite and a faint sulphur air—like the back of a chimney. Then a pop of raw chocolate, almost like Ovaltine, with a tad fizzy lift that tickles the nose. The middle is pretty smoky, underlined by a big, bright orange burst, almost like a large bag of oranges. Amber walls and a hint of burnt brownie trail float over a chocolaty, coffee‑scented finish, with a touch of chicory that feels like dipping a cigar in Mexican chocolate sauce. Whole lot of “big monster excellent” vibes in one bottle. 🍹🏴

Amber in colour, it hits me with a large bag of oranges right off the bat, sweet and zesty. The nose is fantastic—like someone dipped his cigars in Mexican chocolate sauce, with sweeter whiffs of tobacco and chocolate lingering. On the palate, there’s cherry liqueur, chicory, and chestnut honey, but it’s almost more oloroso that tastes of malt than the other way ‘round. Drier raisins and a hint of Ovaltine sit nicely, with a tad fizzy kick from tonic water. Sulphur and struck matches sneak in, but they’re not overpowering. It’s long, leaves a big monster excellent warmth, and finishes with that lot of cane syrup and ginger cake vibe. Really very big and lovable, this one. 🍊

First sip hits like struck matches and black pipe tobacco, proper smoky and intense, but then it mellows into this warm hug of chestnut honey and burnt brownies. Almost like someone dipped their cigars in Mexican chocolate sauce and left ‘em to steep. There’s a tad of fizzy energy, like tonic water with a side of ginger cake, but it’s all balanced by that malty oloroso backbone—more sherry than malt, honestly. Drier raisins and a pinch of chalk, like old walnuts left in the sun too long. And that little whiff of raw chocolate? Absolute sin. Lovable, massive, proper monster—you can’t help but grin after the first glass. 🍊🔥

第一口就跟点着根火柴似的，烟熏味扑面而来，夹着股硫磺的刺鼻劲儿，像是刚从煤气灶边冲出来一样🔥 然后是大袋子橙子的甜香，混着焦糖和巧克力的浓稠，还有点像烤焦的布朗尼那股子焦糊味，真够乱的 再往下是老核桃和烟斗烟丝的泥土味，夹杂着一丝巧克力酱蘸雪茄的怪异，还有点像Ovaltine的麦芽香，但又不是纯麦芽，更像是雪莉酒桶里熟透了的橙子皮 最后是一股子姜饼的暖香，还有那种干葡萄干的干涩，跟抹了糖浆的烟草叶子混在一块儿，真他妈复杂 整体就是个大块头，浓得要命，但又让人上瘾，喝完舌头上还留着巧克力和咖啡的余韵，真他妈过瘾

The first sniff hits you with this big monster excellent punch of dark chocolate and coffee, like someone dipped his cigars in Mexican chocolate sauce and left ’em to mull. There’s a strange sort of struck matches tang underneath, maybe a whisper of sulphur, but it’s got this fantastic depth – think really very big and lovable sherry notes tangled up with black pipe tobacco and a lot of tobacco and chocolate. On the tongue, it’s all syrupy and sweet, chestnut honey and cane syrup pooling like melted ginger cake, but then boom – tonic water sharpens the edges, and suddenly I’m eating a large bag of oranges with drier raisins. Cherry liqueur swoops in late, malty oloroso-style, almost more oloroso that tastes of malt than the other way ‘round. The finish? Long, smoky, with sweeter whiffs of cigars lingering, a tad fizzy bite from somewhere, and this chalky dryness that makes you grin. Amber in the glass, but it’s the burnt brownie edges and raw chocolate that stick with you. Proper lovely stuff, this.
