Just poured a dram, and honestly, it’s quite pale – like an East-German Sylvaner, really light in the glass. Getting a lot of raw, grainy character on the nose – grist, new-make-y vibes, with this lamp smoke underneath. There’s a bit of grass and celeriac in there too, something vegetal. It feels close to the original distillate, kinda like an eau-de-vie de barley. On the palate, it’s hot, mind you. But there’s a wonderful chalky and medicinal development that builds. A bit like aspirin, but in a strangely appealing way. It’s that old style that only glimmers and falters here – akin to that Cadenhead style from back in the day. There’s a polish to it, but it’s still got that raw, circa 1995 character. The finish is long, with celeriac and that lamp smoke hanging around. 刚倒进杯里，这酒看着有点 pale。晃一晃，一股 lamp smoke 飘上来，混着点 Grass 和 celeriac 的生青气，还有那么一丝 plasticine 的味道，挺 old school 的。 第一口下去，哎哟，有点 hot 啊，酒感有点冲。慢慢地，像是 polish 开了，露出些 cut apples 的清甜，但很快又被那种 Aspirin 般的 medicinal development 盖过去了。中段有点 falter，像是果味和烟熏在拉扯。 尾韵倒是很长，带出点 wonderful chalky 的矿物感，和果皮、蔬菜 peelings 那种微微的苦。整体让我想起八九十年代那种 Cadenhead style 的装瓶，有种旧时光的 glimmers，但又带着点 new-make-y 的生涩。有点 stuff for roughnecks 的劲儿，但配着 East-German Sylvaner 般的冷峻回味，还挺特别的 🤔。
