Really very nice at first, all raisins, sherry notes and a wee bit of chestnut purée, like a little cake with a splash of rum. Then it turns medium, very spirity, tad varnishy, almost enough to blow your head off 😅 Bit rough round the edges, kind of Cuban somehow, but still rather better than I expected. Twenty more years might work.

Really enjoyed the nose on this one, all gold and raisins, with a wee bit of chestnut purée, rum, sherry notes and even a whiff of cigar humidor. Sipping it was rather harsh though, very spirity and a little rough round the edges. Kind of Cuban, almost Santiago-style, but the palate was way behind the smell. Still, at eleven, couldn’t do much better really 🙂

Really enjoyed the nose on this one — gold in the glass, whiffs of cigar humidor, a bit Cuban, with rum, sherry notes and a little chestnut purée. The taste felt medium but rather harsh, very spirity, tad varnishy, almost bonbony. Nice enough, really very nice in places, but the palate was way behind. Could blow your head off a bit 😅 Twenty more years might work.

Right then, had a wee dram of this tonight. 🥃 Proper nice nose, sweet like caramel and vanilla. Maybe a hint of smoke too 🔥. On the tongue it's smooth, no burn whatsoever. Feels warm going down. Finish lasts abit longer than expected. Nice and cosy. Definetly worth the pour. Cheers mates! 🍻
