The first sip hits like a storm of Demerara sugar and blood oranges—sweet, sharp, almost too much. Then this heavy liquorice comes through, thick and earthy, like something out of a Guyana rum sack. There's a weird soapy barrage mid-palate that’s hard to shake, but it’s followed by a violety perfume, not the cologne sort but more like crushed flower stems. The pine wood and Full sherry notes sit heavy, like red mahogany shelves in an old library. Pink grapefruits tart it up a bit, while sugar cane lingers sweet behind the teeth. Olive oil slickness coats the tongue, and those geranium stems? They’re there, sneaky bits of green. The finish is long, proper long, with walnut and rum spice clinging on. Not light, this one—full whisky, through and through.

So, poured myself a dram and had a good sniff first. Definitely getting that heavy liquorice and rum note, almost like a Demerara sugar syrup. There's a cologne-like perfume too, and then these lovely blood oranges come through. 🍊 The palate is... well, it's quite a barrage. Very soapy upfront, which is a bit odd, but then it opens into walnuts and that violety floral thing, like geranium stems. Feels quite full and long. The finish keeps going with that pitchy, woody feel and a hint of old rum. Really makes you think of Guyana, somehow. 🥃
