Pouring a glass neat tonight, no soda water. First thing I get is this gentle herbal note, like dried herbs mixed with a hint of white chocolate sweetness. There's a touch of sweet maize and nougat, almost like fudge. Citrusy elements pop up – lime and limoncello, bright and zesty. The body is medium, not too heavy, with less oak influence making it feel fresh, like walking on a fresh-mown lawn or hay. Charcoal adds a subtle smokiness in the background. The style is a bit austere, but pleasant. I'm reminded of broken branches and even a rum-like sweetness. The finish brings gentle sour fruits, like white cherries. Some coconut lingers softly, and the whole thing tastes like higher-class grain. A hint of liquorice wood comes through. Just sipping this makes me smile. 😊
