First sniff hits me with lapsang souchong smoke and a whisper of camphor, like a cup of freshly brewed tea left to cool. Then the palate opens up oilier and fatter, with a big hit of green pepper and a grating of nutmeg that feels almost motor‑oil slick but rounded off by a luscious waxiness. There's a restrained earthiness, hints of elderflower and quince, plus a touch of salted liquorice and coal tar soap that gives it a funky edge. The finish is Good length, forward and more emphatic, leaving a sense of body and structure with a dab of lanolin and a sachet of mulling spices lingering like pear drops in the air. 🥃
