Had a dram neat in a tumbler, light amber, very pleasurable and uncomplicated. Minimal overthinking, just clean and easy with a gingery snap and a slight salty edge. A touch of rancio, little chocolate, sultanas and earthy notes, plus gamey touches that give it a charmingly old school feel. Feels medium bodied, maybe a couple of degrees higher than usual, deadly good. Island vibe comes through, elegant but earthy. 😄

First sip feels like standing on a damp pier... that salty breeze hits right away 🌊 Clean and easy, like a well-maintained old fishing boat. You get this rolling tobacco note – not smoke, more like the unlit leaf in a leather pouch. Then it shifts, nicely gamey in a good way, hints of mushroom powder and old earth. Medium weight, elegant but not flashy. The sherry influence is there, leafy and direct, with a few dried sultanas floating around. Charminly old-school, minimal overthinking needed to enjoy it. Ends with a slightly salty edge and a ghost of rancio touches. Feels like a direct conversation rather than a grand speech 🥃

There’s something quietly charming about this one, proper old school in the best way. It’s one of those drams that just begs to be poured into a tumbler and enjoyed without faffing about. The colour’s a light amber, not too flashy. On the nose, it’s all ginger and this clean, leafy sherry thing going on – reminds me of autumn walks through the woods. The first sip hits with a nice gamey character, maybe a touch of rolling tobacco and earthy notes underneath. There’s a hint of chocolate lurking in there too, subtle but present. It’s uncomplicated, which I always appreciate – no overthinking required. The alcohol’s a bit shy, could do with two or three more degrees to really open up, but it’s still very pleasurable. Finishes with some rancio touches and sultanas, leaving a slightly salty edge on the tongue. Overall, it’s got that same feeling as Tobermory on a windswept island – elegant, direct, and oddly comforting. Proper dram.

下班回家，开瓶倒了一点进杯子。灯光下是那种很温和的光，带着点旧时光的感觉。闻起来有股好闻的、干净的叶子味，混着点晒过的葡萄干的甜。 凑近再闻，居然有点像翻开老书卷时，纸张和尘埃混合的气味？哦还有点淡淡的、很克制的烟草丝味，不是烟熏，更像…晾晒的干草？ 🍂 喝起来挺直接的，不绕弯子。酒体很轻，一点都不重。突然想到“mushroom powder”这个怪笔记…诶，还真有那么点意思，像某种晒干的菌子粉，很淡很飘忽。 雪莉桶的影子在，但是那种叶子很多、果干比较少的雪莉。带着点优雅的旧派作风。 整体喝着非常舒服，轻松自在。要是酒精感再高那么两三度，感觉会更带劲？现在这样也很好，不用费脑子想太多，就是纯享受。是个能让人心情变好的东西。 （突然想笑）这种笔记要是被说“世界上最没用的威士忌笔记”…好像也挺有道理？ 😂

Light amber colour with gingery notes that feel very 'Island'. Nicely gamey, clean leafy sherry style with touches of sultanas and a bit of chocolate. The cask strength is modest, cries out to be sipped from a tumbler – no overthinking needed. Rolling tobacco and rancio hints, slightly salty edge. Elegant yet uncomplicated, medium body, earthy with a faint mushroom powder touch. Reminds me of those charmingly old-school drams, but way easier to enjoy. Honestly, it's so good, I'd say it's a contender for the world's most pointless whisky note award – but that's just me. 😉
