Blimeing hell, this one’s a bit of a curate’s egg. Starts off shy, almost understated – citrusy notes of oranges and tangerines, maybe a hint of pink grapefruit – but then it hits you with this sudden, drying bitterness, like turmeric and green walnuts had a fight in your mouth. Not unpleasant, mind you, but not exactly giving much away either. There’s a grassy edge, reminds me of hayfields after rain, and a whisper of cardamom that makes me think of old sweet shops. The finish is long, but by Jove, it turns rather austere after a moment – almost binary in how it swings from sweet to sharp. A touch hot, with a strange sweetness clinging to the back of the throat, like burnt sugar syrup. Not sure it’s the most rewarding dram I’ve sunk, but it’s got character. Has its charms, in a “what on earth’s that flavour?” kind of way. 🥃

You know, this one's an interesting dram. It starts off with a proper burning kick, those burnt notes hit you right away like you've had a bit too much fun with a campfire. There's something oddly green about it – grassy, walnuts, a hint of that bitter edge from the peel. Gives me the feeling of standing in a orchard after a thunderstorm, all fresh but somehow still got this rubbery undertone that's a bit weird. Then the spices come through – cardamom and more turmeric than I'd expect, almost like someone spilled curry powder in the mash tun. The sweetness is there, though, sugarcane syrup and this orangey brightness that's way nicer than you'd think. Reminds me of squeezing tangerines at breakfast, except with a touch of liquorice that lingers. Long finish, mind, but after twenty seconds or so it turns rather bitter, like the zest of grapefruit skin left too long in the glass. It's not the most complex thing – ueber-simple, really – but there's something oddly charming about it. Maybe it's the hay and that green, slightly bitter thing going on. Makes me think of a countryside walk, but with a bit of a kick. Has its charms though, even if it's not winning any prizes. 🥃

Long sip, starts with a grassy note and a hint of green walnuts, then the citrus of freshly squeezed oranges and pink grapefruits comes through. There's a subtle rubber edge and a sweet sugarcane syrup vibe, with a dash of cardamom and a whiff of grapefruit skin. After about twenty seconds it leans a bit bitter, a touch of turmeric and hay coming forward, and a warm, almost burning finish. Not a lot of drama, but it has its charms – a little hot, a bit straw‑like, and oddly better orange‑y than any cod‑oil aftertaste I've ever had. 😊

Bit of an austere tipple this one, ueber-simple really. First few sips - a little hot, some burning there. Then get these freshly squeezed oranges coming through, quite nice actually, better oranges than cod oil 😅 But wait about twenty seconds and it turns rather bitter. Green, grapefruit skin and pink grapefruits. Some hay, grass notes in there too. A bit binary to be honest - either sweet or bitter, not much in between. There's turmeric, more turmeric creeping in, some cardamom. Rubber and burnt notes lurking about. Surprisingly shy on the finish though. Not the most rewarding I've tried, long but those sour fruits and sugarcane syrup just hanging around doing their own thing 🤷

Lovely cosy dram 🥃 I get soft caramel, a bit of oak, and a warm spicy tingle. Slightly smoky, not too heavy. Finishes smooth-ish with a wee honey sweetness. Nice for a quiet evening.
