This one hits you pretty hot straight off the bat, like black pepper dancing with cherry cola cubes. There's a strange mix of redcurrants and earthiness, but it's all a bit unbalanced – the dryness and woody notes from the cask make it feel more like sawdusty pencil shavings than anything refined. A touch of cocoa and bark comes through, maybe even some mocha with praline, but it’s not too pleasurably. Feels tough and dry overall, like cheap milk chocolate left out in the sun. Not sure what to make of the modern sherry influence here – a bit too plasticine for my liking. Defo not a dram I'd reach for again, miles away from the balance and harmony of a proper sherry bomb. Just feels like it’s missing something, y'know? 🤔

Had a dram earlier, first hit of paprika and a pinch of black pepper, then a whiff of sawdusty aspect and pencil shavings – feels like new wood shavings on a workbench. There’s a mocha with praline sweetness underneath, but it’s pretty hot and a bit sooty, like bark after a bonfire. The palate is dry and woody, with a touch of leaf mulch and plasticine weirdness, plus a hint of redcurrants and amber. Finish medium in length, a little unbalanced, crushes this new high strength NAS vibe – not too pleasurably, just tough and dry with a whisper of cheap milk chocolate and lilies in the background. 😅

Honestly this new high strength NAS is a bit all over the place innit 😅 First hit you get that modern sherry bullying everything, loads of boozy trifle, black cherries, cherry cola cubes, then that pretty hot spicy kick with black pepper and paprika, mocha with praline peeking through too. There’s darker fruits, lilies, redcurrants, even a little turmeric hint, ginger bread vibes, plus that plasticine, pine resin, green wood, new wood sawdusty aspect, leaf mulch, cocoa, cheap milk chocolate, dry and woody, hot dry earthiness, sooty graphite even. Medium in length but it’s miles away from balance and harmony, that sawdusty bit and the heat don’t let the mocha and black cherries shine enough, feels like it’s crushed by the modern sherry casks tbh. Not too pleasurably smooth, it’s tough and dry, a bit unbalanced, but still there’s a huge amount to enjoy if you don’t mind the rough edges 🥃

Well, had a crack at this one tonight. First thing that hits you is the heat – it's pretty hot, like it's just crushes this new high strength NAS approach without much finesse. 😅 There's some cheap milk chocolate and redcurrants in there, maybe some darker fruits trying to come through, but they're completely bullied by these modern sherry casks. It just tastes... off. Lots of green wood, new wood, sawdusty aspect, pencil shavings, bark. Some flowers and black tea notes, but also turmeric and paprika which is odd. It feels dry and woody, tough and dry really. A bit of mocha with praline and ginger bread, but also plasticine? Not a huge amount to enjoy here, to be honest. Feels unbalanced and miles away from the balance and harmony of the 15. Medium in length, leaving you with that hot dry earthiness and black pepper. Not too pleasurably, I'd say. 🤔
