This dram's got a nice kick of sweet breads and sour breads upfront, like marmalade on a stout cake. Heavy toffee and molasses make it proper rich, while mushrooms and black wood bring a smoky depth. Chocolate and coffee notes linger in the finish, much sweeter than I expected but in a good way. Very enjoyable, really – the pumpernickel and rye hints make it feel like a cosy pub night. 🥃

Sipped this dram and got a rush of chicory coffee vibes, a touch of decaf smoothness, and a hint of mushrooms earthy. The wood and black notes remind me of a dark stout, with a sweet bread undertone like pumpernickel and rye bread, plus a bit of chocolate. Finishes rather long, sweet, almost like Nescafé aftertaste – very enjoyable ☕️

Mates, this dram is an absolute belter 🥃 Colour’s proper gold when you hold it up, heavy toffee hits first, all that sweet molasses and prune juice sweetness, no complaints here. Then you get that earthy mushroom whiff, plus coffee that’s way more on the coffee than chocolate, even tastes a bit like that old Nescafé decaf my nan used to drink, weirdly nostalgic. Little hit of sweet pumpernickel and sour sourdough bread vibes, that black woods thing in the back, it tastes proper 'black' too. Finish is rather long with that sweet aftertaste, even a tiny hint of chocolate malt. Oh-so 1980, over-the-top but very enjoyable, way sweeter than most stouts I’ve had lately, proper treat.

Bloody hell, this one's a proper dark pour – almost gold catching the light, but so rich it reminds me of Loch Dhu levels of deep. First thing that hits is this heavy toffee sweetness, then it shifts into coffee territory – more like chicory coffee than anything fancy, almost Nescafé-ish but in a good way? Definitely more on coffee than on chocolate for me. Then there's this earthy thing going on, mushrooms and black woods after rain, like walking through damp forest floor. The bread notes are well interesting too – pumpernickel, rye bread, even got that sour breads tang that sticks around. Gets a bit like drinking stouts honestly, with that molasses depth and woody backbone. The aftertaste is rather long, keeps coming back with more sweet breads and that heavy toffee again. Sweeter than I expected actually, much sweeter, with this sweet finish that just lingers 🍯 Definitely feels like it's in a higher league of complexity. Very enjoyable stuff for a quiet evening. 🥃
