Springbank Distillery, founded in 1828 in Campbeltown, Scotland, stands as one of Scotland's oldest and most revered independent whisky producers. As one of only three remaining distilleries in Campbeltown—the once-prolific "Whisky Capital of the World"—Springbank is unique in performing every step of production on-site: traditional floor malting, distillation, maturation, and bottling. The distillery remains family-owned by the Mitchell family, operating continuously except for brief periods during the 1970s-80s. Springbank produces three distinct malt styles: the namesake Springbank (lightly peated, 2.5 times distilled), Longrow (heavily peated, double distilled), and Hazelburn (unpeated, triple distilled). Known for its artisanal approach, direct-fired stills, and exceptional quality, Springbank has achieved cult status among whisky connoisseurs worldwide, with limited releases commanding significant attention and premium prices.

Right, had a dram of this the other night and honestly the first thing that hits you is just bags and bags of ripe peaches 🍑 — peach juice, peach syrup sweetness, proper fruity stuff. There's sweet apples and gooseberries in there too, quite delicately fruity on the nose. First sip and it's got a nice white pepper kick, lemon and ginger going on, a touch of cinnamon. The mouthfeel is quite waxy, got that fresh butter quality with hints of salt. Some grassy notes come through as well, a bit of that sunflower oil thing. The oak is fairly minor but there's a slight astringent edge, almost like oversteeped green tea if that makes sense? 😅 Gets a bit bitterer on the back end and the oakiness shows up more in the aftertaste. It's actually quite an easier dram though, not a bigger spirit despite all the flavours going on. Really interesting stuff, that peach character just keeps coming back throughout. Proper enjoyable. 🥃

So I poured myself a dram last night and honestly, first thing I got was this lovely hit of lemons and sweet apples, almost like someone squeezed a bit of fresh fruit juice into the glass 🍋 Then it just kept going — loads of peach stuff going on, like peach jam, peach syrup, even that chewy peach gums kind of vibe. Proper fruity stuff, almost bags and bags of ripe peaches. There's a bit of peach juice too if that makes sense. Midway through I noticed some cinnamon and white pepper coming in, gave it a nice spicy kick. A touch of coconut oil and fresh butter too, made it feel quite waxy and rich. Oddly got a little hint of Gin fizz which threw me off but in a good way lol The finish was quite long actually. Went from the fruitier notes into this Oakier aftertaste with some tea and a bit of astringent dryness. Slightly bitterer at the very end, maybe a touch acrid, but nothing that put me off. Minor oak influences overall though, nothing overwhelming. Still very fruity on the whole, delicately fruity even. Got some pears sneaking in near the end and a weird flash of white wine and sunflower oil which I can't quite explain 😅 Poured myself a second one tbh. Cheers

First impression is loads of ripe peaches, almost like opening a tin of peach slices in syrup. 🍑 Then it gets zingy – lemons and a touch of ginger, makes my mouth water. Really fruity overall, almost like biting into a sweet apple with a dusting of cinnamon. There’s a lovely waxy, oily note too, a bit like coconut oil or sunflower oil, which makes it feel smooth. As I drink more, I get hints of fresh butter and a very faint grassy note. It’s quite spicy and the spirit is quite bold. The finish is where I get the oak, a bit of tea-like tannin, and interestingly, just a tiny pinch of salt. 🤔 Overall, it’s a fruit-forward dram, rather sweet and easy to sip, but with enough spicy kick and a dry, slightly astringent end to keep it interesting. Really nice for a casual glass.

Lovely warm sip — honey, gentle spice, a bit of oak and dried fruit. Feels cosy, slightly smoky, with a soft sweet finish 🥃 Quite easy-going, but still got a nice wee kick.
