Had a dram tonight that reminded me of baking breads and a touch of dough, with sweet mushrooms and a hint of old wine cellar. The nose gave potpourri and crystallised violet flowers, plus a nice maltiness and a bit of marmalade on ripe fruits like oranges and cherries. On the palate there was chocolate, raisins, liquorice and a gentle pepper in the aftertaste, all wrapped in a rather medium blend that felt like fruitcake and a bit of tobacco. Felt the same feelings as a cosy evening, gold‑coloured and comforting. ☺️

This dram's got a lovely gold hue, like sunlight through a glass. The nose hits you with ripe fruits and cherries, maybe a bit of liquorice and that sweet mushroom note. On the tongue, it's got nice maltiness with a touch of chocolate and dough, reminds me of fresh breads. There's a hint of marmalade and oranges, even a whisper of crystallised violet flowers. The finish lingers with a pepper kick and some tobacco warmth, same feelings as an old wine cellar. Rather medium body, but the good complexity keeps you curious. Tastes like a fruitcake left out too long, in a good way. Sweet, a bit sweet, but balanced. Nice one.

Had a dram tonight, ripe fruits hit the nose first, then a whisper of liquorice and a peppery kick in the aftertaste. Medium bodied, nice maltiness swirls with marmalade and dried cherries, reminds me of an old wine cellar. Sweet mushrooms and doughy notes peek through, like a slice of fruitcake with a touch of violet sweet and crystallised violet flowers floating in. A faint tobacco leaf and potpourri linger, gold colour gleams, good complexity, same feelings as before but richer. 🥃

Just had a glass that poured out a lovely gold colour. The smell immediately reminds me of marmalade and ripe oranges, with a touch of something floral like those violet sweets. It’s got this nice malty base, a bit like unbaked cake dough. There’s a depth there, kind of makes you think of an old wine cellar – with a hint of tobacco leaf. Taste-wise, get ripe fruits and cherries, almost like a boozy fruitcake. A bit of chocolate and raisin comes through too. The finish has a touch of pepper and a lingering liquorice note. Really quite moreish 😊

The taste is rather medium-bodied, blending cherries and oranges with something earthier, maybe those sweet mushrooms I can’t quite place. A peppery kick lingers in the aftertaste, which is a bit of a surprise but not unwelcome. It’s got that same feelings as a good complexity single malt, but with a golden warmth that makes me think of crusty breads and crystallised violet flowers. Proper moreish, this one.
