Nose is really fragrant, like walking through a garden in late summer - pressed wild flowers and yellow blooms mingling with sunflower oil and that turmeric-esque earthiness. First sip hits silky, almost syrupy, with lots of dried citrus and waxed lemon skins popping out. There's a buttered toast richness underneath, nutty and warm, maybe some nutmeg and wood spices humming along. Mid-palate gets a bit chalky, but in a clean way, like crushed dry cereals. Sweetness follows - salted caramel and fermenting honey, really full of slightly overripe fruits, think cantaloupe and exotic ones too. Jasmine and chamomile tea notes float through, with a hint of potpourri lingering. The finish is long and crisp, earthy but fresh, leaving this polished hardwood and dried mint leaf trail. Proper lovely stuff - we're several levels above that other bottling, I'm pleased to say. Like a glass of top quality dry cider but with more depth, both green and exotic. Gold in the glass, and it keeps things alive and fresh. Some jasmine as well, very subtle waxiness. Rather beautiful, actually. Good length, biscuity notes in the aftertaste. Nutty, with a touch of turmeric-esque earthiness. Superbly quaffable mid-aged Glenlossie, if I do say so myself.
