Whiskyspace Notes 2135

This one hits you straight away – a bit too strong for my liking, but the citrus is lovely. It’s got that proper orange juice kick, bright and zesty, with a hint of grapefruit lingering at the back. There’s something floral in there, maybe orange blossom water, and I swear I caught a whiff of dandelions. The finish is... well, weird in a good way – gooseberries and melons come through, but then there’s this almost woody note, like good sawdust, and a touch of ginger that wakes up your mouth. S’pose it’s excellently tart, if that’s your thing. Didn’t expect the rhubarb juice sweetness though, mingles oddly with the custard undertones. The aftertaste is all grapefruit and tangerines, which I’m not mad at. Not sure about the cellulosic varnish bit – sounds fancy, but it’s just a bit rubbery, innit? Still, it’s a proper gold colour in the glass, and the clean finish keeps you going back. Might need a splash of water next time, feels like a long night ahead. 🥃
