Poured a glass last night after a long shift, blimey the oak is really very oaky, hits you first thing 👀 A rather spicy arrival, then bags and bags of cinnamon, warm ginger kick, even a weird whiff of over-infused tea and lavender? Got that spicy bread sprinkled with way too much custard vibe, Caraway bread too, plus maple syrup and coconut cream sweetness that pops for a second But honestly it’s frankly over-oaked, more and more oak gets in the way as it sits, dries out real quick, very dry finish, tastes like pencil shavings, sawdust, bitter cocoa, just typical oak juice by the end 🫠 medium body but all that oak dominates everything

Ugh, had a dram the other day 🤦‍♂️ Started off alright, nice gold colour, medium body, got that maple syrup sweetness and a hint of coconut cream right off the bat. Then the spice kicked in, bags and bags of cinnamon, even a little lavender twang? But oh lord, the oak… frankly over-oaked, like Really very oaky? It just kept piling on, more and more oak gets in the way of everything else. Got pencil shavings, sawdust, very dry finish, even that bitter cocoa and gritty drying feel at the end. Spicy bread sprinkled with custard would’ve been a way nicer vibe tbh 😂

honestly this one’s a bit of a rollercoaster 🥃 colour’s that proper deep gold too first sip’s that rather spicy arrival, hits with a bit of ginger too, reminds me of caraway bread slathered in a bit of custard weirdly enough? then you get that typical oak juice vibe straight off, bags and bags of cinnamon, really very oaky, even a hint of pencil shavings and that gritty sawdust note halfway through there’s some nice bits scattered in mind you – medium hit of maple syrup, bitter cocoa, little wisp of lavender, even a dash of coconut cream at the very end but honestly it gets drier and drier, that over-infused tea drying kick in, and frankly over-oaked by the finish – more and more oak gets in the way of the good stuff think it’d be better vatted this cask with others tbh

Blimey, this one’s such a lovely surprise🥃 The liquid’s a proper rich gold, first you get bags of cinnamon hitting the nose warm, then smooth black tea mixed with that bitter orange zing, hints of lavender curling up too, even a little note of raspberry jam peeking through. Once it opens up a bit more, the oak and rye come thro’ proper – way more action than I expected, little better than your usual weekday dram tbh. There’s that soft caramel sweetness, a touch of vanillin, the whole thing feels rounder than I thought it’d be. There’s a bitter edge balanced by bright citric zests, that cologne-like clean note is dead nice, and the clove-y aftertaste hangs around rather long. Whole thing tastes like lazing in sunshine with a stack of buckwheat crepes slathered in jam, so easy to sip 🤤

First thing that hits you is this rich coconut cream vibe, like a pina colada gone rogue, but then bitter cocoa creeps in, all dark and moody. The oak though – it starts polite enough, but soon it’s barging in, more and more oak gets in the way, you know? Feels like chewing on a wooden spoon. That spicy bred sprinkled with custard bit is oddly comforting, reminds me of Sunday roast pudding, but then the maple syrup pushes it into dessert territory. Typical oak juice, but honestly, it’s frankly over-oaked – every sip feels like licking a tree stump. Really very oaky, mate, and those bags and bags of cinnamon make it cloying, like eating a cinnamon roll soaked in over-infused tea. Bit drying on the finish, but you’d still neck it with a chuckle 🥃
