Bloody hell, what a stonker this is 🥃 Pours out a dark mahogany amber, smells of dried kumquats, bitter oranges, citrons and proper raisiny sherry vibes – excellent classic sherry monster innit? First sip’s got a superb attack, all unusually lemony, Cointreau zing, then that very waxy, resinous kick with propolis, fir honey, moist pipe tobacco and leathery notes. There’s chocolate, caramelly bits, even that bitter resinous cough gum tang, plus a touch of salt to cut through it all. Lots of oomph, not too clumsy, and the very long finish just lingers on forever. Water needed actually pulls out even more of the rumy, citrusy goodness. Absolute belter.
