Today’s dram feels like a horns of plenty banquet – the grist feels hearty, with ground malt and a lot of black malt giving it a deep, almost espresso‑like backbone, while a whisper of Raw kirsch lifts the nose. On the palate it’s gamey and mushroomy, with a mocha‑mud sweetness that reminds me of pecan pie and black Belgian beer, finishing truly oloroso‑y and almost diminuendo, like sipping extreme moka after a long walk. As long as a day without bread, it stays warm and unromantic yet comforting 🥃

Wow, this one really hits you right from the first sip. It’s huge, almost like hitting a wall, but in a good way. Softer walnuts and dark espresso come through strongly, mixed with this rich, bready grist note. It genuinely feels like sipping an extreme moka, a bit of a fighter on the palate with its strength. 🥃 There’s something deeply earthy about it, like walking on damp soil after rain, and the sherry influence is so obvious—it’s truly oloroso-y, like a gentler sherry monster has walked in. I keep thinking of black Belgian beer, that yeasty, chocolatey bitterness, and even raw kirsch for a moment. As it opens up, it gets more elegant, more moderate. Notes of walnut cake, leather, and black nougat appear, almost like drinking walnut cordial. The finish? As long as a day without bread, with a slight memory of mud and mushrooms. Absolutely fascinating. 👍

Proper dark and chewy this one 🥃 Loads of espresso, black malt and that oloroso sherry feel. Bit like pecan pie, leather, bitter walnuts, damp earth and mushrooms. Quite strong, but not rough — just long, dry and seriously moody. Feels like sitting with a dark Belgian beer and an old cigar, in a good way.

Quite warming and cosy 🥃 I get a bit of oak, gentle smoke, honeyed sweetness and some dried fruit. Finish feels smooth-ish, with a wee spicy kick. Nice one for a slow evening.

Dark fruits hit first... cherry, plum maybe? 🍒 Then this warm, smoky hug wraps around it all. Aye, it's got a bit of spice, like cinnamon or nutmeg. 🔥 Mabye a lil vanilla sweetness hiding in the back. Finishes long and warming. Makes ye want another sip, that's for sure. ✨ Cheers!
