North Star Spirits was founded in late 2016 by Iain Croucher in Glasgow, Scotland. Drawing on decades of expertise as former Brand Ambassador and Cask Manager for the prestigious independent bottler A.D. Rattray, Croucher launched his own venture inspired by celestial navigation. The company name evokes both the guiding star of the northern hemisphere and the boundless possibilities of the whisky universe. Their debut expression, Vega—a blended malt—established their reputation for sourcing exceptional casks and crafting unique releases. As an independent bottler, North Star specializes in single cask and small batch bottlings, championing transparency with detailed cask provenance, natural color, and non-chill filtration across all releases.
