Bloody hell this one‘s a proper splendid dram innit? 🥃 Pours out that deep gold colour first off, looks cracking. Nose is packed with loads of dried figs, plus dried apricots, raisins, sultanas, wee touches of soap that’s almost unnoticeable, not weird at all. There’s that figgy vibe, mint honey, chestnut honey, old Sauternes sweetness peeking through, even a wee beeswax note. Sip’s got salted butter fudge, all those dried/honeyed elements come through proper, wee stout malt notes, even a hint of cereal bars. It’s rounded, a bit rougher than expected but in a nice way? Finish is long, leaves that wee soapy side but it’s lush. Not quite Christmas cake, but bloody complex and proper lovely for a quiet evening.
