Just tried this whisky – smoky and tarry, with a hint of that mercurochrome scent. 😊 The Demerara sugar sweetness balances it out, but the cask strength? Phew, too strong for me! Long finish has orange marmalade and cherry stem tea notes. Really hard to beat for a classic middle-aged peated dram.

Wow, this whisky's really hitting the spot! 😊 It's got a lovely roundness, fruitier than usual – I'm getting tangerines and a lemony zesty vibe, almost like smoked lemon juice with a dash of salt. The smoke is gentle, not overpowering, kinda coastal and briny, which reminds me of sea breezes. There's a hint of brioche and vanilla, making it mellower and more mature. Not too medicinal at all, which is perfect. A bit of firm inkiness and mint in the background, really wonderful! 👍

This one really rather surprised me. First off, it's got this lovely smoky nose, but underneath there's a proper vanilla sweetness and some lemony zest coming through. Bloke next to me said it smelled like brioche fresh from the oven, which I can kinda see. 🍞 Taking a sip, the smokiness is there but it's mellowed out – more maturity shows, you know? It's rounder, balanced. There's a hint of something like cane juice sweetness right in the middle, then this burst of active fruits and a sort of smoked lemon juice thing that's just ace. Makes you think of mezcal in a weird, lovely way. Really rather wonderful at this age, just perfectly accurate and zesty. Cheers! 🥃

Just had a sip. It starts off really lemony and fruitier than I expected, quite zesty. Then it opens up to this coastal vibe, you know? Mellower and rounder than some others, with just a dash of salt. The smoke is gentler here, smoky but not a very medicinal Laphroaig kind. It’s wonderful. There’s a little bit of brioche and vanilla sweetness, firm but balanced. A hint of mint maybe? Honestly, it’s wonderful as a whisky can be at this age. Sipping it feels accurate, like it hits that coastal spot just right. Perfect for a quiet evening. 😊

Just had a sip of this whisky and it's wonderful! 😊 The vanilla is there, with a straw-like dryness and brioche notes. It's firm but not sharp, briny with a dash of salt, and a gentler smoke than usual—almost mezcal-like. There's smoked lemon juice, lemony and zesty, with active fruits popping. Balanced perfectly, not very medicinal, more like cane juice freshness. Really enjoyable! 🥃
