Justpoured a dram from a tiny grain distillery – deep amber colour, first sniff hits molasses and dates with a whisper of sherry and strawberry liqueur. On the palate there’s a rich, oily texture, toasted almonds and seeds, a touch of green peppercorn spice, then dark fruits and fig rolls swirling with tamarind chutney. The finish is long and powerful, leaving notes of aged balsamic, warm croissant, brioche and a hint of rosewater, all wrapped in that richness of this character. Quite thrilling, beguilingly complex – definitely a dram to savour. 🥃
