Poured a wee dram, the colour is light gold, almost like sunshine through a farmyard gate. First sniff hits lemon oils and a whisper of chamomile, with a gentle unfurling of green pepper and a hint of paraffin. On the palate there’s a wonderful splatter of waxes, honeyed shortbread and luscious green fruits, backed by a nervous sweetness that twists and turns along a waxy and fruity path. A faint flicker of ointment and a lingering whisper of medicine linger, while notes of dried herb garden, hay and a thimble of peat give it a slightly earthy, farmy feel. Finishes long and elegant, like an old Sauternes cask whispering through refill hogsheads – utterly upsettingly moreish. 🥃
