Just poured a dram of this oddball whisky, and it's a proper trip. First hit is vineyard peach – sweet and summery, but then there's this tweed-like richness, almost vintage. The motor oil texture greases the mouth so thick, with an air of an old forge, all metal and sparks. Hints of melon sneak in, and an unexpected touch of jasmine tea? Lavender pops up too, delicate. There's a sourdough tang on the finish, and it's not very what you'd expect – unusual character, discreet like a gentleman. Probably an ex-cognac cask, making it beautiful and delicious. Long finish, and somehow it all ties together, improbable as it sounds. Even got a bit of that Schweppes fizz. 😊
