Blimey, this whisky is a proper journey. On the nose, I get dark chocolate and freshly brewed espresso, with smoky tarry notes and a hint of rosewood. It's like hot cross buns warm from the oven, dusted with cinnamon powder. 🍞 Tasting it, there's a huge amount of fun – meaty and umami, dark umami broths with mushroom powder. Sea salt and olive tapenade bring a savoury edge, while the sherry influence gives burnt raisins and red fruit jams. Punchy herbal bitters and juniper kick in, spicy and earthy. ☕ The finish is longish with good length, sinewy yet cohesive. Precious hardwood resins and squid ink linger, balancing the smoky Caol Ila with sweet sherry. Smoked dark chocolate and bacon jam on the fade. It's all over the place but to die for! 👏

First sip... wow, that's a big wave of smoke and tar, like standing by a bonfire that's been brewing espresso. 😮 Then it gets all meaty and savoury – that umami kick reminds me of Maggi sauce on mushrooms, mixed with gamey meats and something earthy. It’s a lot to take in! The sweet things start popping up after a bit. I get salted caramel wafers and red fruit jams, maybe some burnt raisins. The spices kick in too – cinnamon powder and woody notes, like a good rosewood. It’s all over the place in a brilliant way, this tug-of-war between smoky, dark chocolate and those salty, bitter herbal notes. Tastes like a natural tar liqueur mixed with an old herbal bitters. It’s sinewy and complex, that full-term sherry influence really holding it all together. A bit like a dark umami broth but with a punchy, resinous edge. The finish goes on forever, leaving me with this craving for another sip and a hot cross bun. Honestly, it’s divisive, but huge fun – a total rollercoaster for the taste buds. 👍

First sip – dark umami broths and meaty notes, like mushroom powder and cured game. Then burnt raisins and kirsch, with resinous wood spices. Quite complex but cohesive. Salty from sea salt and bacon jam, with olive tapenade and tar. Longish finish with coffee, spicy cinnamon, earthy hints. Hot cross buns come through oddly. Bloody hell, it’s a huge amount of fun! 😊

Blimey, this one's a proper adventure. Nose hits with smoky, earthy tones and a whisper of juniper – feels like a walk in a damp forest. 🥃 Taking a sip, it's sinewy and complex, almost like dark umami broths mixed with red fruit jams. Coffee and freshly brewed espresso jump out, alongside tarry, cured game meats notes. Sea salt and burnt raisins add a savoury-sweet depth, and the full term in sherry makes it all cohesive. Very fun to sip! The finish is longish with spices, bitter chocolate, and a hint of rosewood. Reminds me of bottle aged Jägermeister and old Fernet Branca – that balance between Caol Ila and sherry is spot on. Huge amount of fun, with gamey, spicy layers and good length. Really keeps you guessing. 😋

这酒闻起来就像走进了一家老药房和熏肉铺子的混合体,烟熏味里混着烤肉的甜香,还有点像打开了放了很久的野格酒。 喝一口,哇,味道可真够冲的!先是浓烈的草药苦味,紧接着是木质香料和肉桂粉的温暖感。但神奇的是,它居然能hold住,各种味道就像齿轮一样咬合在一起。 脑子里会浮现出很多画面:烟熏培根果酱、橄榄酱、甚至有点像墨鱼汁那种深沉的鲜味。还尝到了盐太妃糖和樱桃酒的甜,最后收尾带着咖啡和黑巧克力的苦韵。 尾韵很长,有点泥土和蘑菇的鲜味,还有海盐的咸感留在舌头上。整体感觉很“gamey”,像吃了顿丰盛的野味大餐,挺有张力的。 喝着有点像在品一杯复杂的鸡尾酒,虽然味道比较“divisive”可能会劝退一些人,但对我来说真的很有趣,很过瘾!😎
