Pours a nice liquid gold colour. Nose first up: I get yellow flowers, a bit of lavender, and then this warm stewed fruit thing with a drizzle of maple syrup. It’s giving off a spicy, herby vibe too, like a Provençal garden. Cinnamon and a fair bit of clove for sure. The taste keeps it going. Creamy mouthfeel, but then that clove and some spicy bourbon note jumps in. There’s baked apples and rhubarb, maybe some cranberry tartness to balance it. A hint of custard in there too. I get the oak now – it’s rather loud, a bit planky, which I don’t mind. Keeps it honest. And the finish… the clove comes back again, more cloves in the aftertaste. A faintest touch of coconut lingers with the spicy warmth. It’s quite bold, but without any excessive sweetness. Definitely a warming, wintery sort of dram. 🙂

Poured myself a glass of this one tonight. Lovely golden colour in the glass, catches the light nicely. First thing I get is this creamy and spicy thing going on, like a proper sour mash bourbon character. There's quite a lot of cloves up front, some cinnamon too, and underneath it all there's this faintest touch of coconut that I wasn't expecting. The oak's rather loud on this one honestly, a bit planky even. Give it a minute though and it opens up into stewed fruits and apples, with a hint of lavender and what I can only describe as Provence herbs - thyme and rosemary sort of mixing together. There's some strawberry drops and cranberries in there as well, maybe yellow flowers too. A touch of maple syrup sweetness but without any excessive sweetness, if that makes sense. The finish is rather long, more cloves again in the aftertaste with some spicy bourbon warmth. Custard notes come through right at the end. Honestly feels like something that should be easily mixable but I'm quite happy sipping it neat. Not bad at all for a weeknight dram 🥃

Oh, this one's got a lovely nose - I'm getting little strawberry drops and maple syrup right off the bat, with some yellow flowers peeking through. Quite a stewed fruits vibe too, but thankfully without any excessive sweetness. The palate brings more of those apples to the front, and there's the faintest touch of coconut hiding in there. It's got a bit of a planky character, actually, which I quite like. Gets rather long on the finish, and oh! More cloves again in the aftertaste, quite a lot of cloves actually, with some rhubarb tartness and a whisper of thyme at the end. 🌿 I reckon this should be easily mixable - thinking it'd make a smashing base for an autumnal highball. Not too heavy, just nicely put together.
