The nose is brilliant—complex and floral, with a sniff of orange blossom water and something like Geranium jelly, but not too sweet. On the palate, it hits you with this spicy ryeness and a ginger kick, almost like a pepper and cardamom mix. The oak comes through, a bit spicier than I expected, but the palate feels a touch simpler compared to the nose. Finish is quite long, lingering with hints of pie and calvados. Full gold in color, it reminds me of a high-quality bourbon but with a fruity twist. The vanilla/syrups are a bit 'dumb'—maybe that's the cider and apples—but the honeysuckle and chamomile keep it interesting. Not exactly sweet, though, and a bit drying. Still, I’d have another dram 🥃
