Blanton's is the pioneering single barrel bourbon brand that ignited the premium American whiskey renaissance. Launched in 1984 by legendary Master Distiller Emeritus Elmer T. Lee, it honors former distillery president Colonel Albert B. Blanton, who personally selected "honey barrels" for distinguished guests. Each bottle is drawn from an individual aging barrel without blending, making every batch unique. The brand is distinguished by its iconic round bottle, collectible horse and jockey stoppers (featuring 8 different letters that spell "BLANTONS"), and exceptional quality. Produced at the award-winning Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, Blanton's created the single barrel category and remains the global benchmark for premium bourbon. The whiskey typically features rich notes of caramel, vanilla, honey, and citrus with a smooth, complex finish.

honestly mate this hits you with a right spicy ginger arrival first 😂 then you get that warm caraway bread note, a hint of lavender, even a touch of bitter cocoa and maple syrup sweetness mid-way? mid-palate it’s medium weight, bags and bags of cinnamon, smooth coconut cream then oh lord the oak just piles on more and more, really very very oaky, like typical oak juice with sawdust and pencil shavings notes, finishes super dry, a bit like over-infused tea, frankly over-oaked after a while tbh, the oak gets in the way so much 🫠 golden liquid but so dry with a gritty oak finish

Had a dram this evening, first feel was gritty, almost like fine sawdust on the tongue. Then hit me with bags and bags of cinnamon, a pinch of ginger kicking in. Oak is everywhere, more and more oak gets in the way, giving that over‑infused tea bitterness, backed by bitter cocoa. Sweet maple syrup tries to balance it, and there’s a soft Caraway bread whisper at the end. Really very oaky, maybe a tad over‑oaked for my palate. 🥃

Had a dram earlier, got notes of raspberry jam and very marmalade‑y vibes, with a touch of violet and lavender, plus orange zests and a citric lift. There's a warm vanilla and caramel sweetness, a bit of rye spice, and a clove‑y aftertaste. The oak is present but not overwhelming, and the finish is rather long with a bitter edge and some tannicity – like biting into a buckwheat crepe with bitter orange marmalade. A hint of sunshine and gold in the glass, feels rounder, maybe a little better than last time. 🥃

Honestly mate, this one’s a bit of a oddball for me 🥃 Colour’s a nice gold, but first sip’s got that rather spicy arrival – ginger, even a weird hint of spicy bread sprinkled with custard? Then it just gets more and more oaky, frankly over-oaked, leaves that over-infused tea, pencil shavings and sawdust grit that’s very dry and drying, even a touch of bitter cocoa. There’s a bit of lavender, some coconut cream and maple syrup if you dig for it, but most of the time it just tastes like typical oak juice with bags and bags of cinnamon, honestly a bit gritty for my taste.

Right so this one hits you with a rather spicy arrival straight off the bat, bags and bags of cinnamon just rolling in. There's a lovely gold colour to it, looks the part in the glass. First thing that comes to mind is caraway bread, proper earthy and warm, then this maple syrup sweetness sneaks in underneath. But honestly, it's really very oaky. Like, more and more oak gets in the way as you go. Typical oak juice vibes, very oaky, frankly over-oaked for my liking. Pencil shavings and sawdust, that sort of gritty drying thing happening on the finish. There's a whisper of lavender and some coconut cream trying to soften things up, and I get this weird but not unwelcome image of spicy bread sprinkled with custard 😅 Medium weight, nothing too heavy. Bitter cocoa lingers, very dry by the end. Ginger pokes through here and there. It's got character, I'll give it that, but the wood just takes over a bit much for me.
