43% abv, nice and easy. First thing I get is this wonderfully peaty blanket wrapping round everything – reminds me of those German smoked beers I had years ago, actually. There's something boggy and earthy in there, like walking through a moor after rain. Got this pure, clean quality too though, with a lovely lemony sharpness cutting through. Some ashy notes, maybe toasted pine cones? Bit of briny character, peppery kick on the finish. Reminds me of cured game meats somehow – very expressive dram. Gets big and fat in the middle, really coats the mouth. Long finish with pressed wildflowers and what I can only describe as precious ointments? Sounds weird I know 😅 There's this cooked artichoke thing going on too. 1980s character feel to it – brilliant stuff. Short and sweet memory of it, but the taste lingers ages. 🥃

Wow, this dram's a real teat. It's broad and quilts the palate like a peaty blanket – instantly reminds me of cured game meats and toasted pine cones, kinda like those German smoked beers. The taste's chiselled and direct, with a briny edge that's all pink sea salt. Finish is long and peppery, giving off old medicinal liqueurs and various precious ointments vibes. There's a fat, smoky quality with smoked lavender and lemony notes. Very expressive and complex, like pressed wildflowers in a brilliant way. At 43%, it's perfectly balanced 😊.
