Pale amber in the glass, but it drinks much darker than it looks. First sip is a proper wallop of salty peat, tar, iodine and smoked meats, then it gets all plummy, saucy and savoury, like plum sauce, soy, beef stock and pork scratchings by the seaside 😅 It’s dry, peppery and seriously long, with that salted liquorice, old balsamic and earthy smoke hanging about for ages. Big stuff, a bit wild, but oddly soft round the dark fruit. Really cracking dram for a cold evening.
