Pours a lovely pale gold colour in the glass. Quite nice actually. First thing I get is this tangerine zestiness, then comes a wave of really soft vanillin sweetness. There's a definite Scottish grain backbone to it, but then... a funny little hint of basil? 🤔 It gets more interesting. There's a very nice bourbony touch, a bit of sawdust character, and then this whole spicy coconut, Thai sauce vibe kicks in. Reminds me of pina colada mix and those little coconut balls you get, but with a savoury, oily edge. The finish is not too short, which is good indeed. Leaves a nice freshness and these little strawberry sweets notes, like from a sweet shop. A touch of marzipan and butterscotch linger too. Very nice old grain character overall. A good cask for sure. 🥃🍬
