Just had a dram that hit me with a Fantastic nose of dried morels and a whiff of peat smoke, then the palate opened up with Spanish ham, cured ham and a touch of bacon, like a wee whiffs of bellota and stuff. There's a Chocolaty aftertaste that lingers medium long, backed by earth, mushrooms and porcinis, plus a bit of white pepper and something slightly metallic. The smokiness keeps growing bigger, reminds me of old orange liqueurs and bitter oranges, with a hint of cedar wood and grapes. Overall it's flabbergasting, though the palate was a little less than the nose, and there's a tad drying now feeling. Feels like a 1960 vibe, holy featherless crow vibes, definitely a 95-point miracle in my book. 🥃

Took a nosing and got this Fantastic nose of peat smoke, old orange liqueurs and a wee whiffs – proper 1960 vibe. On the palate the smokiness keeps growing bigger, with prunes, mushrooms, bacon and a touch of Spanish ham, plus earth and black dumpies. Finish is medium long, tad drying now, with a Chocolaty aftertaste and a hint of cigars, holy featherless crow feeling. 😊 It's definately a cracker.

Still got that ginger kick and dried morels lurking about, but the peat’s pushing harder now, like a campfire that won’t quit. A touch of bellota ham and white pepper dancing on the tongue, but the finish’s a tad drying—cedar wood creeping in, and those bitter oranges lingering like a bad hangover. Not as grand as the nose promised, but still a proper dram.

Then it’s prunes, porcinis, and this wee whiff of Spanish ham that’ll make you chuckle. First sip’s a bit drying, like licking a flint stone, but there’s warmth from ginger and bellota in there. Mid-palate goes all earthy-mushroomy, with a metallic tang and a hint of exhaust fumes – odd but not unpleasant. The white pepper sparks at the back, and the smokiness just keeps growing, like a log fire on a winter night. Finish is medium-long, leaves you with dried morels and something slightly bitter, maybe from those oranges. Reminds me of a 1960s Talisker my grandad hid behind the cigar box – rough around the edges, but a 95-point miracle in its own way. Bloody fantastic, though the palate’s not as magnificent as the nose promised. Still, worth a dram or two.
