And underneath all that smoke, there's a definite whiff of something like scotch tape or a cardboard box. 📦 On the palate, well, it's not an easy baby, I'll tell you that. Everything’s happening at once and it feels a bit wobbly, like it hasn't quite made up its mind. You get a big hit of something savoury, like caraway seeds and... is that suet? A weird, fatty sort of note. There are some great sides, though. Moments where it's more than fine. A lovely buttery note comes through, and even a little chilli warmth at the back. But then the cardboard comes back, and there's a young, briny quality, a bit like a young Caol Ila, that brings an unlikely dirtiness. So yeah, pretty good overall, but the aftertaste is a mixed bag. It may lack definition, and some parts are better than others. Still, it's a characterful dram, if a little rough around the edges. 🤔
