Had a wee dram and first got honey and bitter orange, then a smoky gunpowder edge. It’s a bit less smooth, with leathery, earthy humus and a nutty walnut hit, plus cardamom and a faint truffle whisper. Some personality there, definitely smokier and gamy than I expected. 😊

Had a dram tonight that felt less smooth than usual but packed with personality – grassy notes up front, a whisper of cardamom and pepper, then a smoky, almost gunpowder edge. There’s a hint of bitter orange zest and honey, with a deep, full‑gold colour. Mid‑palate brings chestnut purée, porcini earthiness and a touch of humus, finishing with gamy, Talisker‑ish vibes and no‑too‑sweet black raisins. Very good stuff 😄

First thing that hits you is that gunpowder note, almost like a whiff of a spent firework. Then it settles into something richer... dark honey, maybe some orange peel, and there's this definite meaty, almost gamy quality that's quite intriguing. 🥃 The texture isn't what I'd call silky smooth, it's got some grip to it. Chestnut and earthy mushrooms come through, with a leathery finish. It definitely has character. The smoke is there but not overwhelming, more like smoldering wood than a big bonfire. Spices linger, and it hangs around in your mouth for ages. Very good stuff, honestly.

Oh, this one’s a proper character—just like a cheeky old mate who won’t let you forget him. First sip hits you with that full gold glow, like sunlight on a damp autumn morning, but then—bam—cardamom and pepper punch you right in the nose. Not overpowering, just there, like someone’s lit a tiny fire in the corner of the room. Mushrooms and porcini creep in next, earthy and leathery, like you’re standing in a forest after the rain. A hint of honey softens it up, but it’s still got that gamy edge—like a well-worn leather jacket that’s seen a few too many pubs. The pepper’s still dancing around, and then—gunpowder—just a whisper, but it’s there, like someone’s just pulled the trigger on a thought. Long finish, though. Not as smooth as some of the OBs I’ve had, but that’s what gives it personality—it’s got teeth, it’s got bite. Taliskerish in spirit, but with its own little quirks. Proper good stuff, just don’t expect it to roll over and play dead.

Poured this one and it’s got a proper full gold colour in the glass. Nose is... earthy, right away. And yeah, some fino-ish notes, but then there’s this bacon smokiness, like a Sunday morning. And mushrooms, almost truffles, in the background. Taste wise, it’s got some personality, for sure. A bit leathery, a bit gamy. There’s a smokier kick now, more Taliskerish maybe, with black pepper and a hint of gunpowder. Walnuts and bitter oranges come through too. Finish is long, really long. Spicy with cardamom, and that earthy, humus-like note hangs around. Grassier elements pop in at the end. Very good stuff 👍
