Honestly, this is rather excellent stuff 🥃 First you get that toasted sesame and roasted hazelnuts, then proper real oranges rather than that synthetic Fanta rubbish, with a little triple sec zing. nougat takes centre stage mid-palate, all creamy with gianduja and milk chocolate infused with orange zest, plus a cheeky hint of chestnut honey. It’s got a quite peppery little kick at first, then spices recede, and you get that surprising notes of leek fondue? Weird but lovely, makes me think of marrow dumplings almost. There’s a whiff of walnut liqueur and a slightly metallic tang, but mostly it’s chocolate and orange zest all the way. Finish is long, with that lively sherry bounce and a hint of cinchona, reminds me a bit of the North Star, all warm gold and bright. H2O is essential to bring out all the layers mind you.
